Alice Howard

I joined the museum in 2009, as an intern working on the re-development project as a mount maker using skills from my Fine Art degree. I then got a permanent position as a Visitor Services Assistant which I did for several years. Whilst working in this role I was seconded to several time fixed projects including Museum Assistant decanting the Egyptian galleries and Events Administrative Assistant. Being able to keep my permanent position open was really helpful as it gave me the opportunity to develop my skills and gain a wide understanding of the museum without worrying about job security. The HR department were also able to give me a one to one interview training session which has been invaluable. For the past two years I have enjoyed working as Picture Library Assistant dealing with image and reproduction rights requests.
