An Exclusive Talk for Members of the Ashmolean
At the Museum in the Headley Lecture Theatre and online via Zoom
With Dr Bob Loynes
Why did the Ancient Egyptians mummify their dead, and how did they do it? Modern technology can help answer these questions and Dr Bob Loynes will help us look inside the case, not only at the people who were buried, but also at the at the extraordinary artefacts buried with them, that are revealed by sophisticated medical imaging. There will also be an opportunity to visit the Ancient Egypt Galleries to look at the mummy of Djed, beautifully displayed in his case.
Drinks will be served at the end of the talk for those attending in person and Members will then have an opportunity to visit the Ancient Egypt galleries.
