PAINTERS IN THEIR PLACES: SCOTLAND
With Alice Foster, Art Historian
In this ongoing series of events, we travel far and wide to study painters in their places, starting with Scotland. The first session will explore how artist James Guthrie and his friends, known as the Glasgow Boys, began a new, modern era in Scottish painting.
The second will be about S.J. Peploe and his fellow painters, a group of bold pioneers in the fields of rich colour and strong light, who came to be known as the Scottish Colourists.
The event will take place online on Zoom and link to join will be shared in advance by email.
Booking is essential and tickets are £14 for both talks, inclusive.
