Short course: two talks about Pointillism with art historian and author Juliet Heslewood
Pointillism grew not only from the liberation that the Impressionist brushstroke encouraged. During the 1880s, Parisian artists studied scientific colour theories that led them to depict the same subjects Impressionists favoured, in a new style that was also inhibiting.
These two talks reveal Pointillist artists and their revolutionary ideas.
