Anja Ulbrich is the Ashmolean’s AG Leventis Curator of Cypriot Antiquities. She looks after a truly wonderful collection of some 6,800 antiquities, and a gallery of the Museum which doesn’t have as many admirers as it should. Dr Ulbrich has picked a group of votive terracotta figures from Kition-Kamelarga, which give intriguing and fascinating insights into Cypriot art, religion and cult during the early Archaic period (750-600 BC). Some 40 of these are exhibited in the Cyprus gallery. Come along and discover more about one of the Ashmolean’s most important antiquities collections and the ancient culture it represents.
