Depart Oxford Parkway P&R on a vintage bus 10.30am
These two quirky transport museums are on one site. The Oxford Bus Museum is packed with vintage buses and coaches, including an 1881 horse-drawn tram, a massive photograph collection and transport artefacts depicting Oxfordshire’s road transport history. The Morris Motors Museum, with bicycles galore and Morris cars, charts the history of Lord Nuffield’s empire from his small bicycle shop through to his world-famous car production line. We shall ride in style to the Museums on a 1950s or 1960s double-decker, returning on a different bus. Museum volunteers will give talks about the exhibits, then free-flow tours. Tickets include refreshments on arrival, buffet lunch and afternoon tea with cake.
Organiser: Rosemary Wharton. Tickets available : 48
Access: Step free with walkways with one short flight of steps to the bicycle collection; disabled toilet. Please indicate when booking if you prefer a downstairs seat on the bus.
