CURATORIAL COVER

Reduced curatorial cover for the European Prehistory and Archive collections in 2025

The curator of these collections will be on research sabbatical leave and unable to respond to enquiries during the period January - October 2025. While the Department will make every effort to provide access to the archaeological and catalogued archival collections during this period, we regret that it will not be possible to respond to enquiries that require specialist knowledge.

General enquiries about the collections should be addressed to antiquities@ashmus.ox.ac.uk and more information may be found through our online collections pages.

OFFSITE COLLECTIONS

Part of the Antiquities collections, including large groups of archaeological material, is held offsite and currently being relocated to new storage facilities. This major project, involving all the University museums, is due for completion in 2027. During this period, some material may not be accessible for research or other purposes. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
