The Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM) at the University of Oxford seek to appoint an EDI Project Officer who will be based within the Assessment and Evaluation unit of the GLAM Divisional Office.

The role involves gathering internal data about protected characteristics for various stakeholder groups across GLAM, making comparisons with national datasets, undertaking engagement activities with community groups, staff and Visitor Boards, and assisting in defining longer term EDI objectives for GLAM.

Ticketing Assistant – Box Office

We are looking for a Ticketing Assistant to join our Retail & Ticketing Team, at the Ashmolean Museum in the heart of Oxford. You will work mainly in our busy Box Office as part of a small friendly team, and be passionate about providing excellent Customer Service. You will have good IT skills, with an aptitude for using EPoS and/or booking applications. This is a permanent, variable hours post.

Programme Manager & Manager of Offsite Collections Storage (Museums)

GLAM is looking for a Programme Manager to work with the four University Museums and Project Teams to deliver a number of complex projects that are required to move the collections and then to take responsibility for the management and operations of the offsite collection facilities.

 In this unique opportunity, supported by the Project Manager (Collection Moves) and a large collections move team, you will liaise closely with museum staff across the four museums to manage the preparation of the collections for the move. You will have overall responsibility for the Collections Move budget (currently £8m).

GLAM Collections Move Project Assistant

GLAM Divisional Office, Various sites across Gardens, Libraries and Museums in Oxford

Grade 4: £22,847 – £26,341 per annum

The University is looking to appoint two new project assistants who will work with the Collections Project Team within the Gardens, Libraries and Museum’s division of the University of Oxford. The University has over 8.5 million objects in its collections and is in the process of constructing two new, state of the art, Collections, Teaching and Research Centres.

The project assistants will work under the Project Team Leader to pack, document and move the collections from their current locations to interim storage facilities whilst the new permanent facilities are constructed. They will also work closely with collections colleagues from the Pitt-Rivers Museum, The Museum of Natural History, The History of Science Museum and the Ashmolean Museum.

These posts are fixed-term until December 2024.

Head of Audience and Engagement Support (GLAM)

The Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM) division of the University of Oxford are looking for an exceptional individual to help make a significant contribution to the development and continued success of GLAM’s engagement strategies.

As the Head of Audience and Engagement Support you will play a key enabling role within GLAM supporting our six departments: The Ashmolean Museum, Museum of Natural History, Pitt Rivers Museum, History of Science Museum, Bodleian Libraries and Oxford Botanic Garden and Arboretum. You will help to support the delivery of GLAM’s ambition to deepen our knowledge of, and engagement with physical and digital audiences to develop exceptional, creative, onsite and online programming and services that truly meet audience needs.

 You will work with the Heads of Engagement across GLAM to support the delivery of local and divisional plans. This demands a creative and proactive approach in supporting departmental and divisional objectives. Strong communication, interpersonal, management and leadership skills are essential.

 You will work with the GLAM Directors to manage GLAM wide relationships with key funders. This includes overseeing and reporting on the Arts Council England funded programme (currently GLAM is a Band 3 National Portfolio Organisation) and will include the completion of formal funding submissions.
