Pride month serves to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and to celebrate and highlight the history and achievements of LGBTQ+ communities worldwide. It falls in June to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred in the United States in 1969.

Learn more about the LGBTQ+ stories represented in our collections in our 'Out in Oxford' Trail, and in some of the highlighted articles and stories below.

This Pride Progress flag, which we shared on social media at the start of the month, is made with a selection of works from our collection in celebration of LGBTQ+ life in Oxfordshire and around the world.
