Each tour will be led by Museum gallery facilitators

Join us for a one-hour tour as part of Create and Transform, a season of events and displays at the Ashmolean.

Explore how change has reshaped art, culture, and history, and consider how our collections transform both our understanding and the world around us. Various dates are available to choose from.

On the tour, we’ll uncover artistic, social, and religious transformations through key objects in our collection. Reflect on how different cultures and periods of history have been shaped and transformed by change.

  • Japanese Samurai armour
  • Oxford Crown coin
  • The Deposition by Van Dyck
  • A Bishop Saint by Michele Giovanni Boni ('Giambono')
  • Sumerian King List cuneiform cylinder
  • Christ Among the Doctors by Jacopo Da Ponte ('Bassano')
