This event is in-person only and will take place in the Museum's Learning Studio
With Sandra Orme, pastel artist
The development of new colours from the Victorian era onwards allowed artists to express colours in clouds as never before. This is brought to vivid life in our Colour Revolution exhibition.
In this two-day workshop, you'll get the chance to experiment yourselves in the use of pure pigment-based Unison pastels to create close-up sunset and sunrise cloudscapes with guidance from Sandra Orme. And discover stunning colour combinations, such as subtle lilacs through to yellows, and bold oranges to reds, as the Victorian artists did.
Join Sandra in delving into the Victorian discoveries in colour. Work with these 'new’ tints and shades to try out bridging colours, and to control colour changes and transitions as you create beautiful skyscapes.
All materials provided.
