Join us for an exclusive Members-only tour of the Chapel of Magdalen College in the company of the Chapel Administrator, Edmund Racher. The tour will offer an opportunity to see the Chapel and discover its function and elements, past and present. You'll hear about the architecture, history, and continued traditions of this wonderful site.
The Chapel’s present appearance is due in large part to restoration work in the 19th century by Lewis Cottingham, but a host of older and newer features appear. As such, there is the chance for a thorough survey and consideration of these and an opportunity to enjoy the congenial surrounding of the College grounds.
ACCESS AND PRACTICAL ARRANGEMENTS
College access: Tickets will grant entry to the Chapel and the organised tour only. If you wish to access the rest of the Magdalen College site, you will need to buy an additional ticket on the day, at the Porter's Lodge, unless you qualify for free entry. Eligible for free entry (if proof/elibility is shown on the day): Magdalen College alumni; Oxford residents living within the ring road; those who hold an Oxford University card, an OUP card, or an alumni card. Catering: There is no catering provided for this event. The OKB cafe will be open.
