With An Van Camp, Christopher Brown Curator of Northern European Art at the Ashmolean Museum

Widely hailed as the greatest Dutch painter of all ages, Rembrandt was one of the most experimental printmakers of the 17th century. The Ashmolean holds one of the most important collections of Rembrandt prints in the world, most of them presented to the Museum in 1855.

In her talk, An Van Camp will explore Rembrandt’s working methods and his innovative printmaking techniques through the spectacular impressions kept at the Ashmolean.

An is the Christopher Brown Curator of Northern European Art at the Ashmolean Museum. She has curated three exhibitions and displays devoted to Rembrandt, most importantly Young Rembrandt (2020) and the UK touring exhibition Rembrandt in Print (2019-2021). In 2024 she curated the critically-acclaimed exhibition Bruegel to Rubens: Great Flemish Drawings.

This event will be recorded and the recording will be shared with ticketholders following the event.
