MEMBERS VISIT TO WATTS GALLERY & ARTISTS' VILLAGE

Exclusively for Members

An exclusive off-site coach trip and visit for Members of the Ashmolean

Booking is essential

Members are invited to join us at the picturesque Watts Gallery and Artists' Village for a day out, including a talk, self-guided tour, and refreshments.

Frederick Watts, with his wife Mary, set up this unique Gallery of his paintings in an Arts and Crafts designed building. On this off-site coach trip exclusively for Members of the Ashmolean, attendees can visit the Watts' home in Linnerslease where they enjoyed an informal social hub of artists, musicians, poets and politicians from Victorian Society. Mary decorated the house with intricate plaster panels and we see Frederick's studio just as he left it.

This visit includes access to Victorian Portrait and Symbolist artist's Gallery, village, and Arts & Crafts Cemetery Chapel, as well as light refreshments on arrival, and lunch.
