One-day practical session in the Learning Studio
No experience required
Booking is essential, see below
With the Berkshire Printmakers, Sarah and Cipriano Martinez
Learn about the heritage craft of silk screen printing with two experienced printmakers. In this practical workshop you'll get to grips with the art technique made famous by the likes of Andy Warhol, John Piper, Eduardo Paolozzi and Roy Lichtenstein.
No experience is necessary for the workshop as you will be taken step by step through how to make your own multi-layered prints. You'll be shown how to use optical colour mixing, create positive and negative stencils, learn about making translucent inks, and get a handle on using a squeegee.
Sarah and Cipriano Martinez of the Berkshire Printmakers demonstrating the process
At the end of the day you will be introduced to experimental screen printing techniques working with paints, charcoal and colour pencils directly on the screen to create monoprints. This course is ideal for anyone wanting to explore this versatile technique.
All materials will be provided.
This is part of our Change Makers season of events.
