APPOINTMENT OF KEEPER OF WESTERN ART

The Ashmolean Museum is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Jennifer Sliwka as Keeper of Western Art.

Dr Sliwka is currently at King’s College London where she is Senior Lecturer in Christianity & the Arts, a collaborative MA with the National Gallery London, and Deputy Director of a major international interdisciplinary project called The Visual Commentary on Scripture.Dr Sliwka is a specialist in Italian Renaissance and Baroque art.

Prior to joining King's she held curatorial and research positions at the National Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum, The British Museum and the Baltimore Museum of Art.

Dr Sliwka will start in post at the Ashmolean in September.
