These workshops are in-person only and will take place in the Museum's Learning Studio
Both workshops are available either in the morning or afternoon, each one is two hours
In these hands-on workshops you learn about the traditional Japanese Ainu crafts of wood carving and embroidery, passed down over generations.
Workshop 1 Ainu Wood Carving: You will learn how to carve a wooden coaster and gain an understanding of the craft process involved in the creation of traditional carved wooden trays.
Workshop 2 Ainu Embroidery: You will discover how to embroider a coaster and gain an understanding of the craft process involved in the creation of traditional embroidered robes.
All materials provided and you'll be able to take home your creations.
