JAPANESE TEA CEREMONY SEP 2025

This event takes place in-person only, in the Japan 1600–1850 Gallery 37

At 1pm OR 3pm. Each session lasts one hour.

Tickets are £12 each and will be available to book soon.

This is an opportunity to learn about the art of tea in Japan. Enjoy a bowl of matcha tea and watch a demonstration in the Ashmolean’s Japanese tea house.

Experience a moment of mindfulness and appreciate a gesture of hospitality while drinking a carefully prepared bowl of tea from a beautiful tea bowl in the calm environment of the tea house.
