POETRY IN THE GALLERIES

Connect & Collaborate Season round icon with orange highlight colour

Drop-in, FREE activity on Saturday afternoon

Gallery 19, ground floor in the Ancient Middle East Gallery

With Oxfordshire poets

Poets from Oxford and surrounding areas will explore and celebrate the Museum’s pieces, renowned or recherche, intriguing or glorious and newly-acquired artworks.

Poems will be recited next to the objects and artworks that inspired the poets. If you want to talk to the poets, most of us are friendly!

The December tour will be inside the Ancient Middle East Gallery 19 on the ground floor, with its Assyrian reliefs and the Sumerian king list from ancient Mesopotamia.
