CEREMONY & RECEPTION
Hold your ceremony in the beautiful European Art Gallery* surrounded by old master paintings, a romantic and intimate backdrop for the exchanging of your vows.
Following the ceremony, you and your guests can enjoy a celebratory reception in the contemporary Atrium space before sitting for a sumptuous feast in the grand Sculpture Gallery.
With the night still young, head down to the Vaults for an after-party filled with dancing and live music to end the evening.
Ceremony for 90 guests & reception for 150 guests

CEREMONIES & BLESSINGS ONLY
For couples seeking a ceremony-only option, we have a number of galleries you can choose from to share your vows.
The largest, our European Art Gallery, is a wonderfully romantic setting for up to 90 guests.
For more intimate ceremonies and blessings from 15 to 35 people, the pre-Raphaelite Gallery, 19th Century Art Gallery and Cast Gallery allow you to exchange vows in truly one-of-a-kind spaces.
Each ceremony will be followed by photos and confetti on the forecourt before you and your guests depart to enjoy the next part of your special day.
Daytime for 15–50 guests
Any two hours between 12.30–4.30pm: £2,250
Evening for 90 guests
Any two hours between 5.30pm–Midnight: £3,090
GALLERY RECEPTION ONLY
Celebrate with us after your wedding vows. Enjoy the Atrium, the contemporary heart of the Museum, with your guests before heading to the grand Sculpture Gallery for a sumptuous wedding breakfast.
With the night still young, head down to the Vaults with your guests for an after-party to remember, filled with dancing and live music.
Reception for 150 guests (plus 30 extra for dancing)

ROOFTOP TERRACE & DINING ROOM RECEPTION
Celebrate your story with us in the Rooftop Terrace & Dining Room, a quiet oasis hidden high above the busy, Oxford city centre.
This exquisite contemporary space is bathed in natural light from the floor to ceiling windows by day, and glistens with the city lights by night. It is a beautiful space to dine with friends and family.
With the outside space, your guests can enjoy the Oxford skyline as an elegant backdrop to socialising and celebrating before you all party the night away with a live band, DJ and evening bar.
Reception for 30–70 guests
6–10pm: £3,480
6pm–Midnight: £4,956
Hire time, 6pm–1am: £5,586

As a COVID-secure accredited venue, we are experienced at helping you assess the needs and comfort of your guests and can help with your pre-event guest communication and managing guests sensitively on the day.
Yes. We are committed to providing full and equal access to Ashmolean spaces for everyone. There is a level access route from the pavement outside the museum to the front door and we have accessible toilets.

Celebratory confetti throwing is permissible on the forecourt after the ceremony. Our event staff will work with you, your photographer, and guests to arrange this. We use faux candles to protect the museum, its collections, and your guests.
Over the years we have developed relationships with trusted partners to support events at the Museum. This means we can offer our clients a curated list of suppliers and creatives who share our values and meet our high standards.
If you do have a preferred supplier who is not currently on our list, we are happy to discuss this with you.
Yes, we can host daytime ceremonies. We are also able to offer you and your guests exclusive use out of Museum opening hours. Please speak with our event managers about timings and locations.
