Featuring 10 objects and paintings, this fun interactive digital guide for families offers an interactive exploration of some of the Museum's most intriguing objects through a variety of multimedia activities. 

Play games and quizzes, enjoy sounds and stories, try out your design and drawing skills – each activity is different because each object is different!

Ashmolean Adventure children on the festive St Nicholas adventure - St Nicholas boat

Look out for a special festive addition coming to the Ashmolean Adventure this December...

The new activity features the painting of  St Nicholas of Bari banishing the Storm in our Early Italian Art Gallery.

You'll meet St Nicholas as you have fun exploring the picture, which reveals one of his miracles, and discover how his story connects with all our celebrations.

   Who is it for?

The Ashmolean Adventure is designed for families with children aged 7–11, but there is plenty for all ages to enjoy.

 

  When is it available?

Available at weekends in term time and every day during the Christmas school holidays from Sat 17 Dec to Tue 3 Jan 2023 incl. Pre-booking your tickets and devices is recommended to avoid disappointment, though walk-up tickets are often available at the Museum.

 

  What is the Ashmolean Adventure?

Featuring 10 objects and paintings, this new digital guide for families offers an interactive exploration of some of the Museum's most intriguing objects through a variety of multimedia activities. 

On a multimedia device, rub away a mummy to reveal what's inside, hear musical instruments come to life, design an Islamic tile or play with perspective in a painting. The Ashmolean Adventure digital guide is packed with games and quizzes, sounds and stories, as well as design and drawing activities – each activity is different because each object is different.

Please note that one activity about Impressionist paintings refers to a painting that is currently not on display due to changing gallery exhibition displays.

BOOKING

Each member of the family will need their own digital multimedia device to join in with the adventure.

Families can book timed tickets for Ashmolean Adventure in groups of up to 6 people.

Pre-booking your tickets and devices is recommended to avoid disappointment, though walk-up tickets are often available at the Museum.

Our standard ticket, for a family of 2, includes the first 2 digital devices. Tickets for additional family members/devices are then available for a small additional cost.

Family of 2: £10 (£8 for Members)

Family of 3: £12 (£10 for Members)

Family of 4: £14 (£12 for Members)

Family of 5: £16 (£14 for Members)

Family of 6: £18 (£16 for Members)
