Professor Bert Smith will lead an interactive discussion of some ancient statues born again in brilliant plaster casts in the Ashmolean's Cast Gallery. Attention will be on collection highlights such as the Olympia Nike, the Aphrodisias Fisherman, the Pergamon Gigantomachy frieze, the Dresden Satyr & Hermaphrodite Group and the new Commodus Portrait.
