The Ashmolean welcomes back old friends, and new ones as well to our series of poetry tours that in 2024.

Poets from Oxford and surrounding areas will explore and celebrate the Museum’s pieces, renowned or recherche, intriguing or glorious.

On this tour in January, our poet speakers will focus on the portraits and porcelain work by contemporary Chinese artist Fang Lijun in the Chinese Paintings gallery.

Poems will be recited next to the objects and artworks that inspired the poets. If you want to talk to the poets, most of us are friendly!
