Meet in the England Gallery
With Oxfordshire poets
The Ashmolean welcomes back old friends, and new ones as well to our series of poetry tours that in 2024.
Poets from Oxford and surrounding areas will explore and celebrate the Museum’s pieces, renowned or recherche, intriguing or glorious.
On this tour in July, our poet speakers will focus on the beautiful 14th-century Wilton Diptych on display in the England gallery as part of the National Treasures programme and also explore objects in the adjacent European Ceramics gallery.

Poems will be recited next to the objects and artworks that inspired the poets. If you want to talk to the poets, most of us are friendly!
