POETRY IN THE GALLERIES SEP 2026

Drop-in, FREE activity on Saturday afternoon

In Gallery 29, first floor

With Oxfordshire poets

Poets from Oxford and surrounding areas will explore and celebrate the Museum’s pieces, renowned or recherche, intriguing or glorious and newly-acquired artworks.

Poems will be recited next to the objects and artworks that inspired the poets. If you want to talk to the poets, most of us are friendly!

The September tour will be inside our Colonial Views of India display in Gallery 29 on the first floor, featuring Colonel Impey's intriguing photographs (and negatives) of daily life in colonial 19th-century India.
